🏆 Step 5: Schedule & Pass the Florida Real Estate State Exam

You’ve completed your course — now it’s time to put your knowledge to the test and become a licensed real estate professional in Florida!

Before you can schedule your exam, your license application must first be approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Once approved, you’ll receive an Application ID Number, which you’ll need to book your exam.


🔎 How to Check Application Status

Visit the DBPR License Lookup page to confirm your approval. Once your application is processed, you’ll also receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter via email — hang on to it!


📆 When Should You Take the Exam?

We recommend scheduling your state exam within 3–5 days of completing your 63-hour pre-licensing course, while everything is still fresh in your mind.

You can book your test:

  • Online at the Pearson VUE website

  • ✅ Or by phone at (888) 204-6289

Pearson VUE has testing centers across Florida and in other states, so you can choose the most convenient location.


💵 Exam Fee & Details

  • Exam Fee: $36.75 (paid to Pearson VUE — prices may vary)

  • Format: 100 multiple-choice questions

  • Passing Score: 75% or higher

  • Time Limit: 3.5 hours (210 minutes)

You’ll be tested on:

  • 45 questions: Principles & Practices of Real Estate

  • 45 questions: Florida Real Estate Law

  • 10 questions: Real Estate Math


🧾 What to Bring

  • A printed copy of your course completion certificate

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID
    (No certificate, no entry!)


🔁 Didn’t Pass the First Time? No Worries!

You can retake the exam as many times as needed — just wait 24 hours before rescheduling.
🕒 Keep in mind:

  • Your Course Completion Certificate is valid for 2 years

  • Your DBPR Application is also valid for 2 years
